She has come to painting late in her creative life. In 2017 she moved to France and dedicated herself to painting. Inspired by the local landscape and culture, she developed a series of paintings that referenced her emotional and spiritual responses to this beautiful area.
“The clarity of light in Normandy makes the colours sing and brings out such a fierce desire to paint I cannot disregard it.”
Since returning to the UK and settling in Cambridgeshire in 2020, she continues to develop her painting practice in response to the landscape and flora of her birthplace. She works from a studio hidden in her wild English garden and, through her painting, is discovering the secrets of the garden and the varied local landscapes.
